Urfa is the cradle of ancient cultures and religions.
Urfa is a great city where you can both walk in the dark streets of past and touch the bright future that you can see in the warm eyes of the innocent kids.

 Sanliurfa - All About Turkey
Urfa remained an important garrison town into Roman times, and was one of the first centers of the early church, but one given over to the monophysite heresy.
Today, Urfa is a surprising mix of the old and new, with Turkish, Arab and Kurdish peasants who come from the countryside haggling in the traditional bazaar, while young technocrats and engineers hustle between offices and shops lining the modern downtown section.
A city of some 1,500,000, Urfa is earmarked to be one of Turkey's largest metropolitan areas after the nearby Ataturk Dam 50 miles (75 km) north of town comes on-stream in the 1990s, and has the highest growth rate of population in the 2000s (1,000,000 in 1990).

Such is the problem I faced from the moment I encountered Yezda Urfa, a mid 70s American band who clearly worship at the altar of Yes and Gentle Giant.
Taken their name from an iranian city (Yazd) and a Turkish city (Urfa, or sanliurfa) Yezda Urfa was destined to go down in history as an unknown band, fortunatly they were discovered well after not releasing this album.
Yezda Urfa are very clearly inspired and influenced by the symphonic styles of Gentle Giant and Yes, with very fast almost frantic changes of melodie and pace.
