Before Athias started printing his own Yiddish Bible, he took the pages of Blitz's translation which, as one of its financiers, he had for safekeeping and used them to obtain a'privilegie' from the civil authorities from the Province of Holland. JCCGW- The name Bezalel comes from the Bible (Exodus 35:30) where Bezalel, the son of Uri, from the tribe of Judah, was appointed by Moses to oversee the construction of the Tabernacle and to supervise the work of the o the r craftspeople. Bezalel was commanded to “devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in the cutting of stones, to set the m, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.” (Exodus 35:32-35:33).
