Uroplatus fimbiratus is the largest species in the genus, and one of the largest geckos in the world, with a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 140-190 mm (5.6-7.6 in).
Uroplatus guntheri is smaller than sikorae, with a SVL of 72-79 mm (3-3.1 in), and is grey or yellowish brown in color.
Uroplatus breed from spring to summer in the wild, with eggs being deposited on the forest floor in late summer (Russel, 1996).

I settled on Uroplatus ebenaui, Uroplatus phantasticus, and Uroplatus sikorae.
The other and most obvious was that the Uroplatus were nocturnal and the chameleons were diurnal.
The watering application was the same as with the chameleons, a combination of a dripping source and misting the cage several times a day, but the time it was done was changed to early mornings and the evenings, after the lights went out.

When disturbed larger members of the species especially Uroplatus fimbriatus stand up open mouthed and let out a large hiss, to an observer I can imagine a branch “coming to life” and hissing at you would be disturbing.
Uroplatus malahelo discovered in 1994 and only known from two specimens.
Overall this is a wonderful gecko to keep and hopefully breed, not that common in collections, its unusual appearance gives it a certain appeal.

Uroplatus fimbriatus are tree dwelling lizards with cool temperature and high humidity requirements.
The fimbriatus are particularly rough since they are so large (12" or so) and need large cages, large prey and are hard to handle.
They have very demanding watering needs which makes them one of the more difficult even within the Uroplatus genus.
