This is the homepage for the usb8x driver for the TI-84 Plus calculator.
usb8x provides USB host capabilities to the calculator, and currently sports nifty demos for USB mouse, USB keyboard, and TI-Graphlink Silverlink.
If you don't have an 84 Plus, or haven't bought an adapter cable, you can check out a usb8x demo video (4.5 MB) to see it in action.

 USB Peripherals for the 84+ - ticalc.org
A few weeks ago, the ever-famous Dan Englender released a revolutionary new flash application called usb8x.
Theoretically this means that drivers can be written to support nearly any USB device (so long as it consumes 100 mA or less of bus power).
Usb8x will open up an entirely new world of possibilities for graphing calculators.

Howto: Connect Your TI-83 Calculator to the Internet
If I remember correctly, there's also something similar to this for the TI-86, although it's not quite as capable as the TI-83 version (I remember reading in the documentation that the TI-86 version can't do IRC or other things that use similar protocols).
@jimXugly Its not possible yet, but if you get a TI-84+ and a neat program called usb8x (http://usb8x.sf.net) which lets you connect USB peripherals, but you'd have to write the driver, so good luck with that.
As far as the movies go, that was one of the lead third-party developers on the 83+ platform that wrote a FAT layer atop the usb8x (usb8x.sf.net) driver layer and pulled that movie off his flash drive and played it.

Alright, Texas Instruments fanboys — gather ‘round, for we bear tidings of a new driver written for the TI-84+ that interfaces with that unit’s USB On-the-Go port and renders it usable with a number of USB peripherals.
Already tested with the Usb8x flash application are a USB mouse, and a loopback test for the USB Silverlink — and, a USB flash drive.
The video below shows a scene from The Matrix playing off of a 1GB Lexar JumpDrive on the TI-84+’s screen — yeah, PSP it is not but hey, who knows when you’ll be stuck on a desert island with only your trusty calculator, a USB cable and a USB flash drive?

I believe I mentioned somewhere that usb8x will be incorporated.
I will have a single App that contains both usb8x and TICI 2.0 drivers, and have it autodetect the calc type.

Add support for USB drives, using an USB8x type driver, but so that programs stored on a drive wouldn't have be moved back and forth when they want to use it.
Oct 23 2005, 12:19 AM That isn't a feature most people would use, and might push you over the edge memory-wise to two flash pages.
I believe Dan is going to do that in MirageOS.
