As a result of Ushakov's studies, the area of the Great Northern polynia (discovered by the expedition of P.F. Anjou (Anzhu) in the beginning of the19th century at the Laptev sea) was estab­lished at the northern coast of Wrangel Island (1926 – 1929) and the Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago (1930 – 1932).
In 1932–1936, Ushakov was the Deputy Chief of the Main Administration of the Northern Sea Route (the Glavsevmorput).
In 1947, Ushakov was a Vice Chief of the expedition of the Academy of Sciences on board the R/V Aleksandr Griboedov, which went from Liepaya (Libava) to Rio de Janeiro and per­formed numerous oceanographic observations.

In 1634, a wealthy Moscow merchant (formerly a resident of Iaroslavl'), Grigorii Nikitnikov, sponsored the construction of a church dedicated to the Holy Trinity in the Kitai-Gorod region not far from Red Square in the center of Moscow.
In 1668, Ushakov painted for the church this icon, which embodies important aspects of the official religious and ideological program of the Muscovite state in the middle of the seventeenth century.

But his reforms of the navy were not popular in the upper echelons of the Russian imperial administration and Tsar Alexander I forced Ushakov to retire to Tambov province south-east of Moscow in 1807, where he died in 1817 aged 73.
Ushakov's canonisation as a saint in 2004 follows a strong tradition in Russia of close relations between the Orthodox Church and the state, which was revived after the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union.

A hint from YAEGASHI Takeshi (of linux/hpcsh) finally made me pay attention to Hitachi's sample WinCE code and so I fixed the annoying problem with certain keyboard chords on 680 not being scanned propertly.
Unlike lynx and openssl that are already on BeBits this stuff really works (the problem is that BeOS has funky sockets, they are not file descriptors).
