Scarcely have we finished talking about what an extraordinary summer it was, with temperatures in southern districts above 25°C well into September, and an apparently endless supply of warm sunny days throughout August, when the reminders of what is ahead start to come in.
Not in Helsinki, of course, but in Utsjoki in Northern Lapland, up at 69° 52' N. The snow did not settle, but had melted away by lunchtime.
