Cana - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Among Christians and other students of the New Testament, Cana is best known as the place where, according to the Fourth Gospel, Jesus performed his first miracle, the turning of a large quantity of water into wine at a wedding feast (John 2:1-11) when the wine provided by the bridegroom had run out.
In Roman Catholicism, the Wedding at Cana is one of the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary.
Cana of Galilee is not mentioned in any other book of the Bible, nor in any other contemporary source.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Cana
This lies some four or five miles northeast of Nazareth, on the road from thence to Tiberias, at the foot of a short, steep hill.
The miracle which has made Cana forever famous was worked by Christ before His public life had fully commenced.
From the language of the Gospel we should infer that the marriage which was taking place was that of a close relative of the Blessed Virgin, for it is said without comment that she was there; and it was no doubt in her honor that Christ was invited.

The second chapter of John's gospel is a composite narrative: the miracle at the wedding in Cana; and the cleansing of the temple in Jerusalem.
The closure of the Jerusalem temple incident in verse 22 is similar to the pattern of closure in the previous narrative section (i.e., the miracle at Cana, witness v.
The parallel inception and conclusion of the Cana narrative and the Jerusalem narrative in John 2 is not coincidental.

From Cana, after the marriage, Jesus "went down" to Capernaum (John 2:12), and returned at the request of the centurion (John 4:46, John 4:51).
These are the only notices of Cana in Scripture, and from them we learn merely that it was in Galilee, and in the uplands West of the lake.
Other villages of the same name are mentioned by Josephus, but probably this one is intended by the Cana where for a time he dwelt (Vita, 16) which he locates in the plain of Asochis (ibid., 41).

The action raised essentially the same federal constitutional claims, including the claim that the lawyer-notarization requirement violated the plaintiffs' rights to free speech and association, to participate in the political process, to vote, and to enjoy equal protection of the laws.
Joining a political party is an exercise of associational rights, but forging such a link does not automatically consign the defense of those rights to the party.
The short of it is that a state cannot separate petitioning into two steps, close off the second step to all but a tiny professional class, and then ignore the effects of that restriction.
