V model - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The current model which is at the moment available in the 1997 version is mandatory within German federal administration and military and has emerged as standard for software development in a lot of industrial companies as well.
The left tail of the V represents the specification stream where the system specifications are defined.
The right tail of the V represents the testing stream where the systems is being tested (against the specifications defined on the left-tail).

Evaluation of the UAM-V Model Performance in the NE Region   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-06)
Model performance for each of the four OTAG episodes was evaluated using subregions that reflect the locations of major metropolitan areas and the predominant southwest-to-northeast transport commonly associated with ozone episodes in the Northeast.
The model's maximum ozone estimates paired in space and paired in space and time were substantially lower than the observed maximum in most cases, which indicates the model does not predict the precise location and timing of the peak well.
On average for July 12-15 in the Northeast Corridor, the model bias was +2 percent and the model error 15 ppb or 21 percent.

The fashion modeling industry, however is very body focused, that is why they have such stringent height requirements for their models.
The models in this segment of the market are often paid very well because advertisers usually focus more on the look of the models face than her figure.
Photographers and clients would rather work with a model who is vibrant and easy to work with than a beautiful one who is honery, does not take instructions well, and acts "snobby" or conceited on the job.

There were (are) several inherent defects in the design of the Model 500 - the table is too small, the upper saw guard was impossible to align with the blade and the fence would not remain square to the blade.
When in the Table Saw mode (all Shopsmith models), the table is chest high and one is reaching across the table to crosscut or rip boards.
The Model 510 was much improved over the 500 - the table was much larger, the upper saw guard was very easy to align with the blade and the fence stayed square to the blade.

Our draft white paper is available here which provides a more detailed overview of the process, sample information model detailing attributes, views, and reports, and how the process model, specification tree, and information model fit into change control, risk management, and iterative based life cycle models.
The process model produces the documents in the specification tree while the information model is the basis on which the underlying data is managed, link, stored, viewed, and operated on.
A process model and specification tree are useful to (a) understand the needed integrity of the model and enforce change control and configuration management of the set of documents which exist at a point in time, and (b) acts as the basis to generate metrics to indicate both the progress through process (e.g.

NASM Space Artifacts: Saturn V Model
Saturn V was utilized in the remaining six Apollo missions to the moon during 1969-1972 and to launch the Skylab Orbital Workshop into earth orbit in May 1973.
The second Saturn V, AS-502, was used in an identical test in April 1968 which failed due to excessive vibrations during the first-stage thrust, early shutdown of the second stage engines, and failure of the third stage engine to restart.
The Saturn V was another NASA launch vehicle that had its origins in the military, but it was used exclusively in the nation's civilian space program and was the only launch vehicle developed capable of sending men to the moon.

A model airplane can be tested in a wind tunnel at a fraction of the cost of building and operating a full-scale prototype, and the airworthiness of new and experimental designs can be tested without risking a pilot's life.
The easiest way to equalize the Reynolds numbers-and thus to obtain comparable flow conditions for the plane and the model-is to increase the speed or density of the airstream in which the model is immersed.
Below, a submarine model mounted in the same tunnel in the 1950s; since air and water have comparable flow characteristics, a boat's performance under water could be predicted in such tests.
