 DC-3 Airways - V Speeds
For the actual speeds relating to the DC-3, R4D and other relative aircraft, see the companion document: DC-3-4.doc (that's not another model of the DC-3, it's the 4th Edition of this particular file).
Vs - Stalling Speed - The minimum steady flight speed obtained in a specific configuration (clean) indicated by the bottom end of the Green Arc on the Airspeed Indicator.
In general, with gear down and flaps in takeoff position, it is the minimum speed where the pilot can maintain control of the aircraft with the critical engine inoperative.

 V Speeds
V is of course for Velocity and the number or letter is normally sufficient to ensure that its meaning is obvious at a glance, for example Vr is Rotate Speed.
The air speed indicator is usually bugged with V2 and V2+15 (or V2+20) and the aircraft pitch adjusted to maintain this speed during gear retraction and initial climb out.
The speed is essentially a function of aircraft weight and has very little to do with any of the factors we have discussed so far.

 Another Symmetry
Speeds with respect to any particular frame of reference really are simply additive, by definition, so no special function is required to operate on commensurate speeds.
However, we haven't yet specified whether the arguments u,v are "speeds" in the sense of dx/dt or in the sense of dt/dx.
A reasonably theory-free concept of speed might be based on the premise that each observer has a concept of his own proper time, i.e., the ordering of immediately sensible events, combined with the idea of reflection.

 Slow Connection Speeds
When a modem tries to achieve/maintain speeds that are beyond the line's actual capability, you end up with a lot of errors and speedshifts which result in poor throughput and performance.
Some modems are agressive, and attempt to connect at a high speed then downshift, while other modems connect at a conservative speed and attempt to upshift during the connection.
It is important to note that the connection speed that is reported by your modem is the initial connection speed.

Airdisaster.Com Forums - formulas for computing EPR and V speeds
V speeds are predicated solely on aircraft weight, flap setting, and performance temperature.
In certain cases when various items are inoperative on the aircraft, we might have to determine the V speeds manually.
Just past the performance limit on the paperwork, the stab setting and the V speeds will be listed for each thrust/flap setting.

An Exploration of Meteor Angular Speeds
Now we look at the five different shower meteor speeds shown in Figs.
However, the angular speeds of the Leonids displayed in Figure 9 are, on the average, noticeably higher than the Geminids previously shown.
However, Figures 1-5 show that this is patently not the case, and that the descriptive speed for a shower only indicates the maximum possible angular speed -- with a full range of meteor angular speeds actually present for a particular shower linear speed.

Sierra Pro Pilot Frequently Asked Questions
Unfortunately, the airspeed indicator in the Citation does not have any colored lines for cues about important airspeeds like the C172.
Speed should be progressively reduced to obtain a Vref of 110 kts (1.3 Vso) at 50 feet AGL (assuming no wind additives).
If you are going faster than this speed when an engine fails, the pilot must make the decision to follow through with the takeoff using the single engine operation speeds, or abort the takeoff if there is enough runway left to slow down in.

delta v, injuries, accident severity, speeds, biomechanics
This change in speed (actually velocity - speed with an associated direction) is delta v and is the accepted measure of the absolute severity of the impact.
Thus absolute speed is not the only determinant of impact severity, and is in fact only a contributing factor.
All three factors combine in a given impact to produce "delta V", the speed change that the vehicle experiences as a result of the impact..

EIA-485 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The difference of potential must be at least 0.2 volts for valid operation, but any applied voltages between +12 V and -7 volts will allow correct operation of the receiver.
It offers high data transmission speeds (35 Mbit/s up to 10m and 100 kbit/s at 1200m).
One polarity of voltage indicates a logic 1 level, the reverse polarity indicates logic 0.

Aero 11 - Erroneous Takeoff Reference Speeds
Boeing safety records indicate that several incidents were caused by the flight crew using the wrong chart to determine V speeds.
On airplanes equipped with an FMC that calculates V speeds, or into which dispatch-calculated V speeds can be entered from an uplink, the FMC and display system automatically set the speed bugs.
The result is many opportunities for human error during calculation of V speeds, even when the process is highly automated.

 Reviews - Zoom 3049 External 56K V.92 Modem : ComputerBob.com
While faster connection speeds are not part of the new V.92 standard, I mention them because I believe that newer V.92 modems are going to be generally better at making faster connections than older V.90 modems, probably because the quality of both modem software and hardware has improved over the past several years.
While the V.92 standard itself does not specify any different connection speeds than the older V.90 standard specified, I tested three different brands/models of V.92 modems, and all three of them have allowed me to connect to my ISP at faster speeds than I am able to connect with my old V.90 modem.
I haven't attempted to measure the speed that particular Web sites display with the Zoom modem, compared to my older modem, but, after using it for 3 weeks, my general impression is that, for nearly all of the Web sites that I normally visit, the Zoom modem displays pages noticeably faster than my older modem.

 Airspeed
However wind speed and the vertical movement of air have to be taken into account before you can choose the best speed to fly when in a forced glide; for more information on power-off glide speeds see the speed polar curves in the "Coping with emergencies guide".
The speed that might be used when flying a search pattern allowing a proper area survey, or when waiting for ground fog to disperse, but it is generally uncomfortable to fly at such a low speed.
It is the speed for minimum power shown in the diagram in section 1.7 of the manoeuvring forces module.

 Sympatico Help: Modems
To achieve the connection speeds indicated in this table, you must be connected to the correct dialup number that supports that connection speed.
First, check which dialup speeds and standard your Sympatico service provider supports, then use the table below to help you match the speed and standard your modem supports with that of your Sympatico service provider.
However, in the meantime, because most V.90 modems are designed to work at either 28.8, 33.6 or 56 Kbps (x2 or K56flex), if you have a V.90 modem, it should work at 28.8, 33.6 or 56 Kbps, depending on which speeds and standard your Sympatico service provider currently supports.

 V Speed Calculator
The following article, submitted by Captain Joseph Markham, provides pilots with a method of estimating V speeds for the 737-300 from the take-off weight.
The speeds are on the conservative side by a knot or so, but seem to work!!!!
For Flaps 5, you subtract 5 from the speeds above, i.e Flap 5, 50t, V2 would be 145 -5 = 140 etc

 International Bowling Speeds
The following list is provided thanks to the efforts of Eddie Smith, who has been tabulating bowling speeds reported in the media and by his own direct observation over the last few years.
Speed measuring devices have only become commonplace at international cricket matches since around 1998.

 Support-Modem Features
V.FC A proprietary specification for speeds up to 28800 bps, based on an early draft of the V.34 standard, that was rushed to market by modem chipset leader Rockwell International.
It's now quite common to have a connection where at least one (and often both) speeds must be limited to less than 28800 bps, and it's not uncommon to find that a connection will support faster speed in one direction than the other.
A true international standard for speeds up to 33600 bps (more realistically 28800 bps) that is more sophisticated and robust than V.FC.

 Modem Installation and Configuration Guide
This is the speeds that the modems communicate with each other, and that the manufacturers advertize: 9600bps, 14400bps, 28800bps, etc (incorrectly called baud).
You can normally expect that a faster modem (eg: V.34) will also support all speeds of a slower modem (eg: V.32) and is compatible with the slower modem (aside from proprietary speeds from other manufacturers, of course!).
A short diversion on the "V" number protocols: These are CCITT standards for modems, and allow modems from different manufacturers to interoperate (talk to each other).

 FeelThere Forums - V speeds
I can't find info regarding the V speeds (seeting), or maybe I missed it.
I found the V speeds in the guide, but how are they entered?
In your MFD(Center EFIS panel) there is a button called "MFD" click it and then look for another called "SPDS" just click it and you will see the speeds menu, to change them just click under the speed you want to modifie and use the set knob to the right of MFD.

 Neowin.net > amd v intel processor speeds
Keep in mind that AMDs have shorter pipelines than Intels so they can afford to have lower clock speeds where as Intel need higher clock speeds to compensate for their inefficiency in that section.
However if you look at Pentium Ms they don't have low or high clock speeds but they have adopted the short pipeline technique.
The Socket 754 3000+ has a newcastle core (winchester cores are only 939), and it does not have dual channel..therefore it will have a higher clock speed for a the same performance rating.

 56K.COM: V.90 Upgrade FAQ
You'll be limited to a maximum 33.6 connect with the V.90 code loaded, and will have to go back to the K56flex code to get speeds greater than 33.6.
If that happens, you'll be limited to conventional V.34 speeds (33.6 and slower).
Upgraded x2 modems will still be able to connect to either x2 or V.90 hosts and achieve faster-than-33.6 speeds.
