		VT Group has acquired HCTC, the hotel and catering training company with offices across the country, from ECI Partners for £10m, as part of a strategy to expand its education and skills business.
		VT Group is planning to shed 150 jobs at its shipbuilding operation in Portsmouth, although it may transfer about 50 jobs to its ship support services business.
		VT Group is planning to shed 100 jobs in the UK and US by closing its oil and gas-based operations and absorbing its motion and electrical controls operation into shipbuilding, affecting sites in Witney and Great Yarmouth.
