  Vu Ryte
References to the experience of déjà vu are also found in literature of the past, indicating it is not a new phenomenon.
Often described as the opposite of déjà vu, jamais vu involves a sense of eeriness and the observer's impression of seeing the situation for the first time, despite rationally knowing that he or she has been in the situation before.
Presque Vu In psychology, presque vu (from French, meaning "almost seen") is the sensation of being on the brink of an epiphany.

VU (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
VU is an outtakes compilation album by The Velvet Underground.
When The Velvet Underground moved from Verve Records (who had released their first two albums) to parent company MGM Records, they signed a two-album deal, releasing their third and eponymous album The Velvet Underground in March of 1969.
The cream of the nineteen tracks was released in as VU; the rest was released as Another View in 1986.

The rest of the album is okay but not essential if you are not familiar with the rest of the VU previous albums.
This is probably the Velvet's least satisfactory album, but its still an essential rock 'n' roll document, and is a shame that it wasn't released during the band's brief lifespan.
Yes, this album lacks the sophistication and artistry of the other four studio albums, but all the tracks are outstanding pop rock gems.

 Cuong Vu
On trumpeter Cuong Vu's third CD as a leader, he takes the spaciness and the simmering, rather than the raw, energy of Miles Davis' fusion-era bands—which featured six or more musicians—and translates their spirit into a trio while retaining the music's widescreen effects.
For his part, Vu offers concise, melodic lines that are both spare and elegant, lacing his rhythmically involving, harmonically concise compositions with short bursts of eloquence and occasional fiery outpourings.
This is no out-jazz free-for-all, it's a carefully crafted album of forward-looking modern jazz where construction is equally as important as expression, and both prosper in the capable hands of this unusual trio.

 VU by Velvet Underground CD
VU features tracks recorded mostly between THE VELVET UNDERGROUND and LOADED which were never released until they were rediscovered in the 80's.
One of two volumes of previously unreleased Velvets tunes, VU consists of songs that were discovered in the early-'80s when preparations were being made for reissue of the band's first three records.
All the tunes on VU provide an illuminating glimpse into the band's musical closet, in which all manner of goodies--aesthetically comparable to their better-known cousins--apparently lurked.

Reed quit the band shortly after that album was recorded, and most people consider that to have been the end of the Velvet Underground.
The liner notes tout it as "the first legitimate bootleg album", because it was actually recorded for personal reasons by Brigid Polk, a Warhol girl and friend of the band.
This stellar foursome thus performed at the Rainbow on June 1, 1974, and the concert is documented on the album of the same name.

Those achievements are all the more astonishing given the fact that the group barely held together through the estimated 800 hours it took to record Déjà Vu and scarcely functioned as a group for most of that time.
Déjà Vu worked as an album, a product of four potent musical talents who were all ascending to the top of their game coupled with some very skilled production, engineering, and editing.
All of this variety made Déjà Vu a rich musical banquet for the most serious and personal listeners, while mass audiences reveled in the glorious harmonies and the thundering electric guitars, which were presented in even more dramatic and expansive fashion on the tour that followed.

While not strictly a Neil Young album, Deja Vu along with the live album 4 Way Street and Sea Of Madness on the Woodstock album and the single Ohio and the ubiquitous b-side Sugar Mountain are the ways many people (including me) were first introduced to Neil's music.
Deja Vu is a very good album which I played many many times in my formative years thus it's pretty well imprinted in my brain.
It was interesting to me and a great indicator of what was to follow, that as much as I loved Deja Vu, the next Neil Young album was for me a much more satisfying record.

This band was popular in their native Boston and although they sadly didn't record, is important to the Velvets story as three members of this band went on to serve in the Velvet Underground.
But for the last studio album with Reed, August 1970's "Loaded", it's Yule who provides the lead vocals for three of this album's four best songs, and the album is brilliant.
Although technically A VU album (thus it's inclusion in the VU discography), "Squeeze" is more correctly Doug Yule's first solo album, albeit one that maintains the VU's spirit and high quality.

Cuong Vu: Well, the main thing is that I couldn’t get any record companies that I was interested in working with to be interested in working with me! [laughing] Basically, the ones that really get the CDs out there--I could only think of a few, like ECM, Winter & Winter, Blue Note, Verve--they weren’t interested.
I love how the parts morph into other sections; I know there’s lots of improvisation and I think I can hear the players cueing each other to suggest the changes--like during your soloing towards the end, I hear Frisell play that four-note phrase [attempting to sing it] and you hear him and go into that.
I can’t think of anything else to do.” And if you really, really repeat yourself to the point where it’s almost like playing the same changes over and over, the same solo--then it gets to be really dead and not fun anymore.
