		VW do Brasil fertigt den Santana auch heute noch, allerdings als leicht veränderten VW Santana 2000 (deutlich facegeliftete Version mit einem um 11 cm verlängertem Radstand).
		In China werden seit 1985 sowohl der Santana und ab 1995 der Santana 2000, seit 2004 als Facelift unter der Bezeichnung Santana 3000, von der Shanghai Volkswagen, einem Joint-venture von VW mit der Firma SAIC gefertigt, die sich vor allem als Taxis großer Beliebtheit erfreuen.
