The Vai are an ethnic group living in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The Vai are known for their indigenous syllabic writing system, developed in the 1820s by Duala Bukele and tribal elders.
In 2003, a Bible in the Vai Syllabary was published.

PFM were probably the most "popular" Italian group to be associated with the progressive rock movement in Italy, and these three releases are from the late seventies when their direction changed a bit.
However, the music should appeal to the "rock-n-roll crossover" crowd, in that it is a blend of the rock-n-roll, almost bluesy, approach with some of the complexity and poetry that spawned the prog rock scene.
Nevertheless, it must be stated that this group really isn't progressive; they're more art-rock in the old-fashioned sense - rock that's so good it seems on par with art compared to the rest of the dross.

Kaikpai (E. Kaikpai Paasewe) is a drummer, dancer, choreographer, and storyteller of the Vai ethnic group which migrated from the Mali empire into coastal region of West Africa now called Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The Vai also have one of first original written languages of Africa.
Mastering not only dances and rhythms of the Vai and Bassa but also the various ethnic groups of Liberia as well as Guinea, Sierre Leone and Cote 'dIvoire.
