		These numbers can only mean one thing: The people of Ontario are overwhelmingly rejecting the policies and performance of the NDP government, and it is time the government recognizes that it has lost the confidence of the electorate and changes its policies accordingly.

		That was the case in Sudbury, Ontario, where a provincial coroner’s inquest recently examined the circumstances surrounding the deaths of three people in an April, 2001 residential fire in a suburb of the city called Valley East.
		While each of these communities has a fire hall, only one of them, the centrally-located Val Therese station, was staffed full time — and by just one fire fighter alone in the fire hall — backed by volunteers with a history of poor turnout and other problems.
		Importantly, the jury also recommended that Ontario’s Chief Coroner review, in cooperation with all appropriate agencies, all of its recommendations annually for the next two years and provide an annual report on the status of each recommendation and any steps taken to address unimplemented recommendations to be filed as a public document.
