Vale is in (Click link for more info and facts about Malheur County) Malheur County, (A state in northwestern United States on the Pacific) Oregon, about 12 miles (19 km) west of the (A state in the Rocky Mountains) Idaho border.
Vale was selected as Malheur's (The town or city that is the seat of government for a county) county seat in 1955, 68 years after the county was founded.
In September 2004, Oregon's first known human case of the (The flavivirus that causes West Nile encephalitis) West Nile virus was found in a teenage boy from Vale.
