		Valkyrie Profile is a RPG developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix (now Square Enix).
		Valkyrie Profile took artistic liberty with Norse mythology and the game should not be used as a mythological source.
		Valkyrie Profile features multiple endings; based on player performance, the difficulty level selected, and in the case of the best ending, their actions, a player can obtain one of three endings, labeled as A, B, and C. Since only the A ending actually completes the plotline, this provides an incentive to perform well.

	Review - Valkyrie Profile
		In Valkyrie Profile you play as Lenneth Valkyrie, one of Odin’s three Death Goddesses that he sends to Midgard in order to find worthy warriors near death so she may claim their soul in order to train them to fight in the final battle, called Ragnarok.
		Valkyrie maneuvers through dungeons floor by floor, encountering enemies that she can see at all times, and thus avoid if she likes or she can strike out at them and engage in a turn-based battle with them.
		The sound quality of Valkyrie Profile isn’t as good musically as I would have liked, but the actual voice-acting for the parts where Valkyrie speaks or others speak was done rather well considering that many titles didn’t place a whole lot of effort into the voice-acting in the Playstation One era.

		The dungeons in Valkyrie Profile are reminiscent of 8 and 16-bit 2D side-scrollers with a few RPG elements mixed in.
		Valkyrie can: a) run into the enemy, which gives the enemy the advantage in battle b) slash the enemy with her sword, which allows her party to strike first, or c) freeze the enemy using her ice crystal ability and bypass the battle completely.
		Valkyrie's fluid animation through these dungeons left me moving her around and just watching the crisp movements she made.

		Now (and hang in there), as a Valkyrie you can sense human souls near death, you recruit the ones that would be the most useful in battle by using your "Spiritual Concentration" (kind of like a funky version of a "shinning").

		As for the characters, well Lenneth Valkyrie is the only one fully covered from start to end, the rest of the characters have a few pages dedicated to them, but it doesn't go any further than that.
		Even when it's a sweet ending, it's not a great one, it is just average and with sudden changes that occur frequently and with out a reason, make this great plot, inconsistent and somewhat forced to be like that, instead of a plot that grew to be like that.
		And it is a shame that such propaganda wasn't able to fully cover the game, to offer the same greatness as the game, even if it would have been a mere copy of the game, with the succulent art this manga has there is no way it could have go wrong.

		With Square churning out Final Fantasy titles like they were going out of style recently, Valkyrie Profile may already seem like a distant memory to most people, since it came out for the Playstation in 2000 and was largely ignored.
		Telling the tale of a valkyrie named Lenneth (obviously), Valkyrie Profile makes good use of Norse mythology and slick artistic direction to bring this adventure title to life on the PSP, though the new game does not take advantage of the superior hardware in any way.
		The overall feel of the game is more in line with Square's older Final Fantasy games, at least in terms of presentation, so any fans of old school RPGs looking for a good PSP title can probably scratch their role playing itch later this summer.
