JOHN K. GERINGER, proprietor of the City Hotel, Danville, was born in Montour County, Penn., August 2, 1852, a son of Adam and Angeline (SMITH) GERINGER, natives of Pennsylvania, former (a miller by trade) of English origin, and latter of German.

MIFFLINBURG, Union County (May 30, 2002) — On behalf of Gov. Mark Schweiker, officials from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) today helped celebrate the openings of eight central Pennsylvania community playgrounds in Juniata, Lycoming, Montour, Snyder and Union counties.
Ceremonies were held at Lions Club Park in Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County, and Harry F. Haney Memorial Park in Mifflinburg, Union County, to mark the openings.
DCNR last spring provided a $300,000 Community Recreation grant to SEDA-Council of Governments, a development agency representing 11 counties in central Pennsylvania, to help eight municipalities rehabilitate their parks and playgrounds.
