		Valmontone has a population of 12.244 inhabitants (Valmontonesi) and a surface of 40,9 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 299,36 inhabitants per square kilometer.
		Population: The municipality of Valmontone had a popolation of 11.649 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991.

	Valmontone
		Valmontone was a fief of the Colonna family, but along with many other possessions of the Colonna it was sold in 1634 to the Barberini family, who in turn sold it in 1651 to Camillo Pamphily, nephew of Pope Innocentius X.
		All the families of the popes of the XVIIth century acquired fiefs from the Colonna in this area and built palaces and churches (Borghese in Monteporzio, Barberini in Palestrina, Pamphily in Valmontone, Chigi in Ariccia, Rospigliosi in Zagarolo).
		The church clearly exceeds the needs of the small population of Valmontone and, as Gregorovius remarks in his account, it would fit well also in Rome.
