Value (computer science) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
L-values are values that have addresses, meaning they are variables or dereferenced references to a certain place.
An immediate value is a number (either written with digits (in any by the language accepted manner), or as a string ("mnemonic 'A'" could be the same as "nmemonic 0x64", please note that the byte order of strings may differ depending on the assembler an architecture, please consult your assemblers manual for details)).
A value could also be a reference or pointer (or the data pointed to by a pointer, depending on the context) to another variable or data of a given datatype.

Value (computer science) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In computer science, a value may be a number, literal string, array and anything that can be treated as if it were a number.
The use of a term value is useful in clarifying the exact meaning of assignments, copying, and comparison of objects.
A value can be virtually any kind of data by a given data type, for instance a string, a digit, a single letter.

In a classical (or conventional) computer data are measured by bits; in a quantum computer the data are measured by qubits.
Quantum computers are different from classical computers such as DNA computers and computers based on transistors, even though these may ultimately use some kind of quantum mechanical effect (for example covalent bonds).
This random string can be used in computing the value of a function because (by design) the probability distribution of the measured output bitstring is skewed in favor of the correct value of the function.

Value is a term that expresses the concept of worth in general, and it is thought to be connected to reasons for certain practices, policies, or actions.
The theory of value is closely related to that of allocative efficiency, the quality by which firms produce those goods and services most valued by society.
A value system is in essence the ordering and prioritization of the values (usually of the ethical and ideological varieties described above) that an individual or society holds.

 Computer Science vs. Computer Programming
In computer "science", we think nothing of that, but "hard" scientists would have accepted it with open arms, because discovery of new facts is a worthy thing in itself.
Computer scientists who claim to be working in abstract algebra are often actually working on new ways for encoding data on hard disk platters or breaking ciphers.
Computer science does not have a topic (the study of algorithms and data structures) so much as a purpose (to represent and solve problems that people encounter writing programs to perform tasks, and to classify these tasks).
