Planet V is an event run by the JCRC of Vanbrugh College at the University of York, UK.
However since the refurbishment of Vanbrugh Bar (2005) cheese and chart was controversially scrapped in favour of HipHop and RnB, leaving Vanbrugh students without their regular source of cheese.
The event is rivaled by the regular events of other colleges, such as Derwent College's Club D, Goodricke College's G-Spot.

She is concerned that Vanbrugh has been singled out, and is also worried by the timing of the move: “To do it during the summer means that the SU and JCRC’s cannot inform anyone, freshers won’t know any different and older students will return expecting a night porter.

This years York EMC event was located in the Vanbrugh College rather than the usual location of the University Events centre.
The final two presentations were by University of York speakers; firstly Francesca Faraci presented experimental simulations of the interaction of telecommunications system with the human body, primarily mobile phones at 900MHz and some 1800MHz data was presented.
Unfortunately this year the York EMC conference was not well supported by the EMC industry for whatever reason and failed to live up to my high expectations.

Paul Norton off the York University reported that the fact that the Sisters will play in its Vanbrugh College was known in the as early as January, and was even advertised in local student newspaper Nouse.
The gig is held twenty years to the day in the same hall that the original Sisters made their debut, and both the peculiarity and small size of the venue are somewhat overwhelming.
Other than the fact that for me and the handful of others who actually went to York University, and spend the latter half of the 80's sitting around those bars discussing indie bands and such stuff as the Sisters it was a very strange experience.

Around 40 people attended the event arranged by the University of York in Vanbrugh College.
The terms in which it is expressed, however, have changed since the current focus of interest is in the brain rather than behaviour as such.
Ron Clayton then invited participants back for high tea at Langwith College and said that he thought a good beginning had been made on discussions about science and religion matters at York University.

A proposal to split Vanbrugh college in two at the start of next term is being discussed by the University.
As Alcuin's new accomodation may not be ready for the start of the new year, new students may be staying in a tempory outpost in Vanbrugh.
Due to the planned conversion of parts of Vanbrugh into teaching areas, these rooms would probably not be used for students anyway.

In reply to Glen: HI Glen and Norrie, tried to set up Manchester and Leeds gigs at the universities but both authorities wanted to charge ludicrous rents for the lecture theatres.
In reply to Ian Parnell: Tonight's gig is at York Uni, plenty of tickets sold already but its a big lecture theatre so there will be tickets available on the door.
Park in the 'Campus West' Pay and Display parking (free after 5pm) Follow the covered walkway over the lake and Vanbrugh College is on the right hand side (ask any of the students or follow the trail of posters) Look for room V/045.

Also worthy of note is the fact that despite its high overall reputation as a university, the Oxford Music course is not in the top twenty.
It combines the performing elements of a music college with the more academic elements of some of the older universities, with the added bonus of having its own gamelan, a fantastic opportunity to study World Music, and very strong composition department.
Coffee, and most on-campus meals and after-orchestra drinks, take place in the nearest bar in Vanbrugh college, which is notorious for its population of musicians.
