	Vance D. Brand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Vance DeVoe Brand (born May 9, 1931) is a former NASA astronaut.
		One of the 19 pilot astronauts selected by NASA in April 1966, Brand initially was a crew member in the thermal vacuum chamber testing of the prototype Command Module and support crewman on Apollo 8 and 13.
		At the time of the mission, Brand, at 59, became the oldest astronaut in space, later to be superceeded by John Glenn in 1998 on the STS-95 mission.
