When my vision returned, Itzamna was pointing to his companion, the god with madly spinning goggle-eyes.
It came so close I felt I would be swallowed, and opened its mouth to reveal a precise row of infinite fangs: "It is good," the Serpent said before vanishing in a flash of brilliance, leaving me alone, bloody, passed out at the crumbled mouth of an empty cave.
And everything before me simply ceased to be, all except the Sovereign Plumed Serpent, which was just twisting, just floating down to the top of the mountain, its scaled nostrils flared, bright feathers gleaming.

Later, Yoshiki will create their own indie record label, Extasy Records, and X will release their first album, Vanishing Vision, extremely hard-rock oriented but with some nice slow tunes too (Alive, Un-finished).
In march 1989, exactly one year after Vanishing Vision, X will make their official debut in a major company, Sony Records, with a fabulous album called Blue Blood.
In my honest opinion, it's the best album they ever made, because it mixes again perfectly their various styles of music.

Piero della Francesca ‘Ideal City’ – the vanishing point arrives at the handle of door – what is implied by this – dealing with infinity and a new concept of space (where is God) order, rationality and proportion – there is also an irrational aspect to perspective.

Perspective (graphical) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A two-point (ie, two vanishing points) perspective is derived from one-point perspective by yawing (typically) the line of vision so that the line of vision will be at an angle away from the focus (the view may be pitched as well to create a two-point perspective along the vertical axis).
Perspective (French: perspective from Latin perspicere, to see clearly) in the graphic arts, such as drawing, is an approximate representation on a flat surface (such as paper) of an image as it is perceived by the eye.
Three-point perspective exists when the perspective is a view of a rectilinear (Cartesian) scene (a scene composed entirely of linear elements intersecting at right angles) where the painting plate is not parallel to any of the scene's three axes.

Gaddis Annotations - JR - Hermann Broch's Sleepwalkers - NY Times Book Review
Hermann Broch undertook ''The Death of Virgil'' (1945), a fictional vision rivaled only by ''Finnegans Wake,'' because the radio station that commissioned him in the mid-30's to address the problem of literature at the end of a cultureal epoch insisted on a story rather than a lecture.
According to Broch, sleepwalkers are people living between vanishing and emerging ethical systems, just as the somnambulist exists in a state between sleeping and walking.
Broch initially wandered into fiction out of what he called an ''impatience for cognition.'' Born in 1886, he was a product of that fin de siecle Vienna that he analyzed devastatingly in his brilliant study ''Hugo von Hofmannsthal and His Time'' (recently available in English).

Cleft phrases and neatly tucked melodic couplings sustain the interiors of songs carrying a weight of transitional phrasing and extensive solos which borrow from neoclassical traditions in a blues context.
While this work drops out of any specific genre to become the dreaded Swedish melodic metal, its essential values of extremity and beauty are still expressed, although in something closer to what most listeners can handle than the glorious excesses of emotion and technicality that were past albums.

The electric vision of the yellow Lakota warrior chasing Buffalo Bill as he drove the Deadwood Stage triggered something deep in young Dorothy's aesthetic instincts and she rebelled against the luxury and privilege in which she found herself and demanded to be allowed to become an artist.
While depicting their traditional "vanishing" culture in the Wild West exhibition, however, Cheyenne and Lakota leaders were able to imprint many fundamentally important aspects of their culture's spiritual essence into mainstream Euroamerican society while relatives on reservations were forming secret, underground versions of sacred ceremonies to reunite and renew themselves.
That spring afternoon was magnetically charged with historic occurrences and the lemon-yellow Lakota warrior struck like lightning, imprinting five-year-old Dorothy Brett, as Buffalo Bill and his Sioux companions rolled past like thunderheads that gather to bring terrifying, yet fascinating, electrical shocks from the heavens.

Yes agreed, the main plot is about a mission to Titan but Stephen Baxter tries to enhance the boring story (a 7 years flight through the darkness is not quite entertaining) with elements about mankind screwing up big time.
