 News: Afghanistan, Four dead in attack on aid organization in Afghanistan
Kabul_(dpa) _ A bomb attack in the central Afghan province of Vardak killed at least four Afghan employees of an aid organization, security sources in Kabul said Tuesday.
In the province of Helmand, at least 12 fighters from the Islamic radical Taliban were killed in an attempt to ambush a convoy containing provincial police chief Abdul Rahman Sabir, the Pajhvok news agency reported.
The former ruling Taliban issued a ban on the use of vehicles in the district of Andar in the province of Ghazni.

Nurestan Province (also spelled Nuristan) is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan.
It was formed in 2001 from the northern parts of Laghman province and Konar province.
It is bordered on the north by Badakhshan province, on the west by Kapisa province, on the south by Laghman and Konar provinces, and on the east by Pakistan.

Vardak has been devastated by earthquakes several times, as part of it is situated on a major seismic belt.

KABUL, Afghanistan: Mar 02 (PNS)- The World Health Organisation (WHO) in Afghanistan has confirmed the deaths of two children in Vardak Province to the southwest of the capital, Kabul, with the cause suspected to be meningitis, but stressed that they were isolated cases.
The victims were two girls, one aged four and the other aged seven in the village of Tizak in the Behsud District of Vardak Province.
WHO, in collaboration with the MOH, sent a team of doctors to the province on Monday to determine the scale of the problem; it concluded that there had been only two cases.
