		The name "vaudeville" largely replaced variety by the 1890s, but the word "variety" continued to be used as a synonym throughout the period covered by this collection.
		The English have continued to use the term "variety" for the same theatrical experience and have rarely employed "vaudeville." The term "music hall" has been customarily used for a British form of variety with strong emphasis on songs sung by individual performers.
		These found expression in a form of variety theater that overlapped with and eventually succeeded minstrelsy: the so-called "coon show." Several skits of this nature are included in the Library's source collections.

	Vegas4Visitors Shows - V: The Ultimate Variety Show
		I enjoyed the show the first time I saw it at The Venetian so I decided a revisit was in order in June of 2005 as they have taken up residence in a new theater at the Desert Passage Mall at the Aladdin (soon to be Planet Hollywood) and have revamped the show.
		He channels Paul Lynde with a healthy dose of Jack from "Will & Grace" thrown in for good measure and I probably should've been offended but he was pretty funny and his magic bits were terrific, eschewing grandeur and hydraulics for the kind of up close slight of hand that leaves everyone scratching their heads.
		The flat floor is packed with banquet style chairs and small tables leaving little room for anything even remotely resembling personal space and the sightlines, both over the head of the person sitting in front of you and around the support pillars, is terrible.

		In 1994, Disneyland had decided to close its long-running show, The Golden Horseshoe Jamboree, remembering the popularity of his psychic parrot, Dana approached Disney management about the possibility of doing a one man show in the Golden Horseshoe 2 days a week when the Billy Hill Show was not running.
		Dana wrote the show himself and with the help of a side man/pianist and his favorite sidekick, his parrot, Luigi, the Golden Horseshoe Variety Show as born.
