Balasundaram, the Secretary of KFI, that the registered owner of Vasanta Vihar in the Madras records was Star Publishing Trust, Ommen, Holland (founded on September 26, 1929) which purchased the original 6 2/3 acres (then known as Bishop Gardens) in 1934, and the building now known as Vasanta Vihar was constructed in the years 1934/35.
Fortunately, the Court in Madras ordered in December 1972 that the Vasanta Vihar property be placed at the disposal of KFI for Krishnamurti's talks to take place there for the first time in many years, pending the resolution of the lawsuit.
Meanwhile, the case was proceeding in California and by June 20, 1974, the Ojai case was nearing the close of settlement negotiations.
