The Vedek is a stern-looking middle-aged woman, with prematurely grey hair, a hawkishly ridged nose, and inestimably kind eyes that don't seem to fit in with the rest of her face.

There appear to be many more Vedeks on Bajor than Cardinals however, although this may be due to the increase in use of inter planetary transport.

There appears to be an aweful lot of red tape around here for a place that has seperate articles for different varieties of pancakes.
Well, both Kahless and "the J-man" have had major religions built around them, unlike most Vedeks, Ranjens, preachers, Kohlinar monks, etc. I guess religious leaders would count to (like popes and Kais).
It should be pointed out, too, that that alone shuld have given someone the basis on what belongs in the category, to some degree.
