Vehicle dynamics is the Dynamics of Vehicles, here assumed to be ground vehicles.
(For the dynamics of air vehicles see Aerodynamics.)
It is a part of engineering primarily based on classical mechanics but it may also involve chemistry, solid state physics, electrical engineering, communications, psychology etc.

 Vehicle Dynamics
In the field of vehicle vibrations vibration properties of vehicle parts and their effects are investigated with experimental and numerical methods.
Apart from modal analysis the section of experimental research of vehicle vibrations also consists of the measurement of system parameters that are needed to build an analytical model and also for the measurement of optional values (mainly forces and accel erations) on the complete vehicle.
One point of interest in the research at the IFT is the influence of quantities of motion of lateral dynamics, such as course angle, yaw acceleration, lateral acceleration and steering angle on the driving behaviour of passenger cars.

 VEHICLE DYNAMICS
Vehicle dynamics is a complicated analytical and experimental technology that is used to study and understand the responses of a vehicle in various in-motion situations.
When a vehicle turns, centrifugal force acts on the vehicle and tries to push it to the outside of the curve.
As the vehicle accelerates or slows down more rapidly, or as the vehicle corners at faster speeds, it demands greater traction forces from the tire-road combination.

Vehicle dynamics is the study of these forces and their effects on a vehicle in motion.
Road isolation is the vehicle’s ability to absorb or isolate road shock from the passenger compartment.
Remember that the vehicle’s ability to steer, brake, and accelerate depends first and foremost on the adhesion or friction between the tires and the road.

 Vehicle dynamics
The change in vehicle velocity from the beginning of the trajectory to the point of rest (POR) is determined using the work-energy equation.
Functional analysis is employed to determine the ideal path of a vehicle undergoing a limit lane-change maneuver, given the tire-road coefficient of friction and either vehicle velocity or geometric constraints.
The performance of a vehicle may be assessed by measuring its deviation from an ideal path during simulated or actual limit lane-change maneuvers.

 LEMD University: Vehicle Dynamics
Vehicle dynamics is how all the bits come together.
The importance of vehicle dynamics comes down to three core areas: 1.) Internal - how the pieces interact, your set-up; 2.) External - how the set-up reacts to the road; 3.) The psychology with which you approach your study and implementation of these two areas.
The External aspects of vehicle dynamics is the study of the fact that what the numbers are focused on isn't what's under your tires.

Differences associated with vehicle understeer conditions observed in the present study were large and consistent, independent of driver expectations and across driver age groups.
It is thus fair to conclude that in the event of a complete rear-tire detread, the increased difficulty in vehicle handling and the associated increased likelihood of loss of vehicle control with decreasing vehicle understeer generalize to real-world driving.
A validated mathematical vehicle dynamics model and real-time simulation are prerequisites for performing this complicated task.

The fundamental breakdown of the motion control functions between guidance and control relies on the notion that an autopilot is responsible for stabilizing the motion dynamics of the vehicle in terms of its speed, heading, and depth.
Ocean vehicles suffer from a number of dynamic lags in their motion response and actuator sizing, and these lags set an upper bound for their reaction time.
At these conditions, the vehicle is very maneuverable due to a total of four rudders and four dive planes with a maximum turning rate of about 9 deg per second and a turning radius of less than two vehicle lengths.

It is essential to have at least a basic understanding of what occurs in a race car during cornering in order to know what adjustments to make.
At some tracks, there is no real static cornering - the car is either decelerating into a corner, or accelerating out of corner, or on road coarses, the turns follow one another slow closely that you are already setting up for the next corner in the middle of the current one.

Understeer: This is when, at the limit of vehicle traction, the front of the car go beyond the limit of adhesion (tire grip) before the rear tires, causing the front end to "plow" or "push".
It is not efficient for extracting maximum lateral G's because the car will dynamically use the front tires excessively for turning, overloading them while the rear tires basically just hold the back of the car up.
