VCL (Vixen Controlled Library) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The VCL (Vixen Controlled Library) is the world's largest nearly-uncensored art gallery of furry and anthropomorphic material.
However, when the archive moved to a new location at the student computer society network at the University of Linköping, Sweden, Brian suggested that the term "Velar" should not be used any longer, and the archive was renamed to just "VCL".
The VCL is currently administrated by Chris "Ch'marr" Cogdon, as well as a team of assessors who freely spend their time ensuring that the art and literature uploaded to the VCL shows both artistic maturity and attention to presentation.

Swedish language - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Standard Swedish is the national language that evolved from the Central Swedish dialects in the 19th century and was well-established by the beginning of the 20th century.
Swedish is also notable for the voiceless dorso-palatal velar fricative, a sound found in many dialects, including the more prestigious forms of the standard language.
In Central Swedish dialects /r/ often becomes a fricative [ʐ], in consonant clusters often as [ʂ], and especially in Central Standard Swedish as the approximant [ɹ].

The VCL (previously short for the Velan Central Library, popularly the Vixen Controlled Library) is an archive containing more than 300,000 pictures and stories centered around anthropomorphic (mainly "furry") characters.
VCL is supported by donations, or (failing that) out of Ch'marr's pocket.
The site was founded by Brian W. Antoine as the Velan Central Library - initially, just his private art archive as an FTP site, named after Velar, a location from The Family nas Kan stories.

The term "labiovelar" is used as a cover term here to refer to various kinds of phonemes found in some (but by no means all) Oceanic languages.
Labiovelar phonemes combine, in one way or another, a bilabial and a velar articulation, though the phonetic manifestation of labiovelarization may vary considerably from language to language.
Included under this label are phonemes as described in table 1 (represented here by their phonetic norms), where it will be noted that velarization and rounding may both be involved in the production of a labiovelar.

Blench (2003) has recently classified Sakun as a Central Chadic language that forms its own group within the Wandala cluster of the Wandala-Mafa group.
The Sukur themselves are quite clear that their language is more similar to those of the Higi (kamwe) and Kapsiki (psikye) than to any others, which would suggest that it be classified (according to the Blench 2003 terminology) as a member of the Central branch/Bura-Higi major group/Higi group of languages.
However, until a linguist undertakes a detailed comparison, it would be foolish to say any more than that Sakun has a long history as an independent language in the region.

The voiceless velar fricative, [x], is pronounced by putting the tongue near the velum, as for [k], but instead of completely stopping the air as for [k], the air passes between the tongue and the velum causing a "grating" fricative sound.
The voiceless palatal fricative, [C], is made by raising the entire middle part of the tongue high in the mouth toward the hard palate (the "roof of the mouth"), almost like the vowel [i].
For the velar [x], English speakers will tend to substitute a velar stop [k] because this is the only voiceless velar sound in English.
