Velimir Ilic (born 1951) is current Minister of Capital Investment in Serbian government and deputy in the parliament of Serbia-Montenegro.
He was born on Cacak on May 28 1951, and studied at the University of Belgrade, graduating from the Faculty of Technology in the Department of Construction Materials.
Ilic attacked Apolo TV reporter physically, by kicking him with a leg in the station studio.

Mayor Velimir Ilic, who also heads the New Serbia party, became angry when Jesic asked him if he is related to Strahinja Ilic, who had been detained by the government in the mass arrests that followed the March 12 assassination of Serbian prime minister Zoran Djinidjic.
Ilic told CPJ in a telephone interview today that Jesic's interview was a "provocation" and said he only kicked the folder on the journalist's lap.
Stills of the videotape obtained by CPJ show Ilic kicking at the journalist, but it is unclear whether he hit the journalist in the knee or knocked his folder.

Cacak, Krusevac - Velimir Ilic, Mayor of Cacak, came in possession, quite by chance, of material evidence proving theft of votes in presidential elections.
At press conference held on Saturday, Velimir Ilic presented the evidence to the journalists.
Ilic further said those were ballots filled-in by soldiers of Military Post No. 8628 Presevo, 9845 Valjevo, 4795 Belgrade and 4466 Vranje that were given to Election Unit 4 Cukarica and all had rounded the name of Vojislav Kostunica.

Velimir Ilic, vice-president of New Serbia and Mayor of Cacak has been sentenced to five months of prison, or one year on parole and financial compensation, after being charged by former Internal Affairs officials in Cacak.
Ilic was sentenced for giving a statement at a rally in Cacak in 1997, when he said that left coalition Presidential candidate at the time, Zoran Lilic, "was guarded by local criminals during the election campaign, who caused body harm to several youngsters in the process, two of which were submitted to lengthy hospitalisation".
Ilic told Radio B2-92 that the whole matter was a political process staged to prevent him from making public appearances and leading an election campaign, since the smallest error could put him behind bars from now on.
