VeriSign continued to be actively involved in the Transfer Implementation Committee and the Transfer Assistance Group, as well as with registrars and registries leading up to the actual implementation of the new policy on 12 November 2004.
VeriSign employs a vice president of policy and compliance, as well as a compliance officer to monitor and ensure that VeriSign's performance is in accordance with the contractual Code of Conduct requirement.
VeriSign has been particularly concerned about the impact on registrars and therefore has solicited their input to make sure that the migration plan is designed in both an effective and flexible manner that accommodates varying registrar needs while ensuring security and stability at both the registry and registrar levels.

VeriSign says more than 500,000 code-signing certificates have been issued to date, and this is the first time any bogus certificates have been issued.

 Microsoft, VeriSign, and Certificate Revocation
Clearly, VeriSign is leaving it to the actual crypto-library developers to either retrieve a CRL from its well-known URL, or to somehow give users a means to manually install a VeriSign CRL after it's been manually downloaded.
The plain and simple fact is that VeriSign did not provide the CRL distribution point extension of RFC 2459, and it was within standardized practice to omit it.
But if their principal provider of certificates, VeriSign, doesn't include the optional feature pivotal to their revocation infrastructure, then they are left with an utterly vacuous meaning for "working", much less for "revocation infrastructure".

The results also could be interpreted to indicate that the survey's respondents aren't as foolish as they appear, since several reportedly said they'd change their passwords upon returning to their computers.

Go Daddy Sues VeriSign Over Site Finder
Go Daddy’s lawsuit claims that VeriSign is misusing its position as the.com and.net domain registry to gain an unfair competitive advantage by intercepting (and profiting from) internet traffic resulting from the scores of invalid domain names that are typed into users’ browsers on a daily basis.
VeriSign’s service looks at the name the user mistyped, then guesses which name the user intended to type, or what the user may be interested in.
And it is VeriSign who directly benefits from all these additional forced registrations, because VeriSign operates the registry from which the names must be purchased.

ICANN urges VeriSign to suspend SiteFinder | The Register
This VeriSign wildcard redirects traffic that would otherwise have resulted in a "no domain" response to a VeriSign-operated website, called Site Finder, the features, search results and links to paid advertisements.
The document suggests VeriSign's "wildcard" service goes against "two basic principles of architectural design which have served the Internet well for many years": the Robustness Principle and the (splendidly named) Principle Of Least Astonishment, which says a program should always respond in the way that is least likely to astonish the user.
