 | | This course examines the use of the African American dance aesthetic by performers, dancers, choreographers, historians, and dance theorists, from the 19th century through 21st century, as they created and contributed to the idioms of modern, jazz, ballet, street vernacular and traditional African based dance forms in the United States. |
 | | This course is designed to use the dance vocabulary of contemporary street funk, jazz, ballet, modern and traditional African dance to develop, increase and maintain cardiovascular ability, strength, muscular coordination, agility and postural awareness. |
 | | Participation in theatre disciplines such as lighting, sound, stage management, set design and costuming; development of choreographing and performing skills to be used in a theatre or studio dance production. |
