		Moreover, as many Jews lived in the Diaspora, and Judea itself was populated by many Gentiles, Jews had to confront a paradox in their own tradition: their Torah applied only to them, but revealed universal truths.

		We learn in the case of a Jewish slave sold to a non Jew that he must be redeemed and not taken by force, since it is written: 'after he is sold he may be redeemed' (Leviticus, chapter 25, verse 48) and this means that another Jew is forbidden to liberate such slave by force.
		Jews should be the first to beware of using such general prohibitions as their only defense, since during all the times when they were killed or exterminated the general prohibition against killing was present in the codes of law of the states or religions responsible for their killing.
		Yes, killing of non Jews by Jews is prohibited by Halacha in the same way that spitting on street is prohibited in a city; such killings are treated by Orthodox Jews as being venial sins.

	Bible Query from Job
		While G.R. Driver says that in Old Babylonian and in Amarna glosses this means "to flee", The Expositor’s Bible Commentary volume 4 p.944 says that this idiom is also in Psalm 78:19 and means "to speak against".
		While God did not specifically command this in the Old Testament law, God’s obedient servants, such as Job, were not looking to see everything they could get away with, but rather looking to please God in all their ways.
		However, Philo the Jew (15/20 B.C. — 50 A.D.) mentions the setting of the seven stars of the Pleiades as the time to sow and the rising of the Pleiades is harvest time.

	Calif. DOE forcing Islam on children
		Then suddenly, the pace picks up, beautiful rich art is included with compelling music and excitement as the angels "come down to Muhammad," and the religious beliefs of Islam are presented as fact in exciting, awe-inspiring ways.
		As I talked to the teacher on the phone, I could hear in the background the video reading the verses in the Quran criticizing Christianity, claiming there is no son of Allah, etc.
		I'm not sure what I object to more, claiming Christians, Jews and Muslims all have the same beliefs and god (which clearly isn't true as the Quran condemns Christians and Jews to death), or presenting children with statements that Christianity is wrong without qualifiers (like Muslims believe).
