The town was submerged by largest hand made Rybinsk sea in 1939.
All the inhabitants were forced to move, and had to rebuild their houses on a fields.
So the new Vesyegonsk exists on a map not far from old one.

It was published in Vesyegonsk (there is an uyezd town of that name in Tver Gubernia) on the first anniversary of the Soviet revolution in Russia, on November 7, 1918, a long, long time ago.
Evidently this Vesyegonsk comrade is a member of the Party—I read the pamphlet a long time ago and cannot say for certain.
They are remarkable for they show that even in the town of Vesyegonsk, even in 1918, there were people who had a correct understanding of the relationship between the victorious proletariat and the vanquished bourgeoisie.
