Vibe proved himself in battle, fighting with the League against such threats as the Overmaster and the Cadre, Anton Allegro and the Mad Maestro, and old League villain Amazo.

Vibe's best moment occurred during The Crisis of Infinite Earths when the Son of Menuedo inexplicably ambushed Plasmus, a very deadly member of the Brotherhood of Evil.
Frankly, just making Vibe into something that can be admired would have earned this book five bullets, but Beechen also has Vibe resonating in a clever plot that begins in the gutter and escalates into a very unexpected place.

An episode of Date Plate where the man who was being wooed with food was a comic book collector - although I could have done without the embarrassing posing with his carefully bagged and boarded comics.
I know, it doesn't really impact the quality of comics, but maybe these things could help remind other people that they do still make comics, and some of them are actually good?
Good to see Marvel is suffering from disorganization with its marketing and creative departments, and making sure that those few people who like to read convenient collections of issues don't have to waste their time on series that the much more populous single-issue collector doesn't like.

After seven years, Vibe, the urban music and culture magazine, has ended its publishing relationship with Random House and has entered into a joint partnership with Kensington Publishing to co-publish a line of books called Vibe Street Lit under the Vibe Books imprint.
Beginning In January 2007, Vibe Street Lit will publish four trade paperback originals with a focus on fiction and will target the audience for Vibe and Vibe Vixen (its female counterpart).

And Best American Comics' cover artist Lilli Carré was in Top Shelf's booth to sign the biggest debut of the show, Tales of Woodsman Pete—and they sold 125 copies of it over the weekend.
Alternative Comics' Jeff Mason couldn't make it to the show, but as usual the company's table was manned by his artists and had nonstop signings, notably by Sam Henderson, who had a new Magic Whistle volume out.
