Vicente LOpez y Planes[vEsAn´tA lO´pAs E plA´nAs] Pronunciation Key, 1784–1856, Argentine statesman and poet.
After the fall of Rosas, LOpez y Planes was made (1852) governor of Buenos Aires prov.
Outstanding among his poems are Triunfo argentino, a ballad celebrating the successful Argentine defense against the British, and a war song commemorating the triumph of the revolution, which was adopted as the national hymn in 1813.

Bernardino de la Trinidad Gónzalez Rivadavia y Rivadavia (May 20, 1780 – September 2, 1845) was the first president of Argentina, from February 8, 1826 to July 7, 1827.
Faced with the rising power of the Federalist Party and with several provinces in open revolt, Rivadavia submitted his resignation on June 29, 1827.
He was succeeded by Vicente López y Planes.

On April 6 1852 Urquiza had a meeting with governors Vicente López y Planes of Buenos Aires, Juan Pujol of Corrientes, and delegates of Santa Fe, were it was decided to call for a Constitutional Congress under the terms of the Federal Pact of 1831.
The legislature elected Manuel Pinto to replace him, but Urquiza made use of the attributions given to him by the treaty to call a federal intervention that dissolved the provincial legislature and reestablished López y Planes at its head.
When López y Planes resigned for a second time, Urquiza assumed the government of the province himself, naming a state conceal of 15 members as deliberating organ.

Estimated to be the date of birth of Vicente López y Planes, 1784.
He was the author of the poem that become the lyrics of the patriotic march that was selected by the National Constitutional Assembly established in 1813, in its session of May 11 of that year, to identify the country as the national anthem.
