Victor Doerksen (born:November 25, 1953) is a politician, accountant and former Cabinet Minister in Alberta, Canada.
Victor was first elected to the riding of Red Deer South after it was created from the old Red Deer riding in the 1993 Alberta general election.
Victor quit his post as the Minister of Innovation and Science on August 15, 2006 and announced his candidacy for the leadership of the Progressive Conservatives on August 17.

Doerksen hasn't yet discussed his proposal with the ruling Conservative caucus, but he believes that it's consistent with the policy of the Klein government, which has already resisted opposition demands to recognize same-gender couples in two bills affecting unmarried heterosexual couples.
Doerksen intends to add a preamble to the Marriage Act which would include his definition and would cite the so-called "notwithstanding clause" that allows provinces to reject provisions of the national Charter of Rights and Freedoms, in the hope of avoiding discrimination lawsuits.
