Steven, The line was the last remaining part of the South Australian Railways isolated horse tram system that ran from Strathalbyn to Victor Harbour known as "The Southern Tramway".
It was extended to Victor Harbour on 1 April 1864, and to Strathalbyn on 23 April 1869.
Horses were used to take goods to Granite Island even after the introduction of steam.

Went into Victor township to get a new TV aerial for the van, and left the TV for repair (colour disappearing and returning very odd colours).

It is snow famous for its horse drawn tram which takes visitors along the 800 metre long causeway to Granite Island
It is possible to see them all returning from the sea in the evening or during the daytime you may still spot a few in their burrows like we did the pair opposite.
