Victoria waterlilies are from tropical areas of South America.
Victoria amazonica is found in the tributaries of the Amazon where it grows in warmer, deeper waters as a short lived perennial.
His concept of crowning the boxy nave of the greenhouse with an arched roof was inspired and, in large measure, copied from the vein pattern on the underside of the Victoria waterlily leaf.

It looks like a few of the earlier sprouted Victoria seedlings were a little sensitive to the treatment but I expect to see them bounce back soon.
A week ago the Victoria's looked like they were running out of steam and I knew I should have boosted them but I have been so busy with work I never had a chance to get around to them.
At the current rate of growth over the last week I will have to place the Victoria's into their own tank and boost them before they start sending roots out of the small pots they are in.
