The city remained in Company hands until after the Indian Mutiny (or First War of Independence) of 1857 when it was taken from the Company by the Crown.
Flora Fountain, Victoria Terminus, Hanging Gardens and the lakes were built in this time period.
Railway: Mumbai houses the headquarters of Western Railway (at the Churchgate railway station) and Central Railway (at the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus).

So Mumbai's Victoria Terminus became Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus.
I mean everyone was comfortable going to the railway station and saying 'Ek VT dena!'; now no one says 'Ek CST dena!'; they have to say 'Ek Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus dena!'
Before the same thing happens to Bangalore, which is now my city, I want them to give names to streets with no names.
