  Arbitrage - LoveToKnow 1911
Arbitrage operations are for these reasons resorted to frequently by one country in supplying the requirements of another.
To give concrete instances of the working of arbitrage the following may be cited: On the 21st of May 1906 the exchange on London in Vienna was telegraphed from that city 24 kronen cents; London, requiring to purchase remittances, found that Antwerp had some Vienna to sell, and arranged to buy there.
Arbitrage with India consists chiefly in buying bills of exchange in London, such as India Council rupee bills amounting to about 16 millions sterling annually, and commercial bills drawn against goods exported to India.

Likewise, an arbitrage venture reliant on a tax-motivated exit in such a narrow-spread niche entails no shortage of basis risk for the wholesaler-types, he adds.
Arbitrage players with smaller properties for sale are still finding a ready and relatively aggressive exit market today in all those tax-motivated buyers who’ve sold properties at cyclical-peak pricing and are now seeking replacement opportunities.
McDowell anticipates such arbitrage endeavors in the net-lease arena, but he wouldn’t characterize the movement as the next big thing due in part to its inherently risky nature.

Arbitrage and Optimal Portfolio Choice with Financial Constraints
For a world with portfolio constraints the concept of no arbitrage has to be replaced by a weaker concept which we call no unlimited arbitrage.
Second, though we can characterize prices which allow no unlimited arbitrage by the existence of certain state prices as in the unconstrained case, additional computational work is needed for deriving from this fact a pricing theory for contingent claims.
The power of no arbitrage techniques is preserved in the sense that no specific assumptions about utility functions of investors have to be made.

ICC Arbitration Case No. 6149 of 1990
If the arbitral tribunal therefore would follow [seller's] argument and decide that the lex mercatoria would be the proper law of the three sales contracts, probably only one part of its arbitral duties would have been accomplished.
It is therefore consequential for the arbitral tribunal to discard the lex mercatoria (besides Korean law) as the proper law of contract.
The Vienna Convention could only become the proper law of the sales contract if the parties, by an agreement, would stipulate its application (while Korean substantive law would govern the issues not covered by the Convention).

The Vienna Stock Exchange is insignificant in the "concert" of the international financial markets.
The significance of the "Vienna scene", which developed in the wake of Hasenbichler, is disproportionately high for today’s futures markets, higher than in most European states, and this is not only true in relation to the marginal significance of the Vienna Stock market to the international capital markets.
A successful representative of this "genre" opened his doors in 1993 in the 18th District of Vienna: Georg Klein and Andreas Jeschko founded the Benchmark AG, whose funds, called Blue Danube, are not managed by them.

Moreover, "the Warsaw court's decision does not modify the terms of the Vienna arbitral award, which remains unenforceable against Telco and PTC," Vivendi said late on Friday.
On Friday, Vivendi also revealed that it has made several proposals to Elektrim that would allow it to comply with the Vienna arbitrage court ruling and sell some PTC shares to Deutsche Telekom.

From an Austrian gentleman in touch with the Ballplatz I hear that, while Count Berchtold is himself peacefully inclined, a feeling that strong steps should be taken against Servia exists in the minds of several members of the Austro-Hungarian Foreign Office whose opinions carry weight.
But though some restraint has thus been placed on the cry for vengeance against Servia, this country is still in a very angry mood, and the extracts daily published in Vienna from a portion of the Belgrade press serve to inflame still further the public mind.
The Servian Minister, M. Jovanovitch, condemns these utterances, but points that they are partly accounted for, though certainly not justified, by the memory of innumerable attacks, couched in the mot insulting language, which the Vienna press has been in the habit of making on the Servian people.
