The Jewish Catacombs of Rome   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
Since four out of six synagogue names at Vigna Randanini have been lost, this could be an accident of survival, but it seems highly unlikely that the four lost names represent synagogues otherwise attested only at Monteverde.
The high percentage of title-holders in inscriptions of unknown origin is because the presence of a recognizably Jewish title or the name of a synagogue is a diagnostic feature in identifying as Jewish an epitaph which does not come from a known catacomb.
The greater use of Latin at Vigna Randanini might be explained by the inscriptions being later than those of Monteverde, as suggested by Rutgers (1995, 180, 183).
