	CE Pro § Sticking Up for Intel's Viiv
		Viiv has a slightly snappier ring to it than Media Center Edition and a much better sound than Windows XP Media Center Edition, which is how the folks at Microsoft like to promote the platform.
		Viiv is getting people -- both consumers and the channel -- talking about MCE and for that we should thank Intel.
		I don't think it's fair to say that people questioning the hype of Viiv are being "unduly harsh." When the company doesn't give meaty details that match their level of marketing, it's perfectly legitimate to ask questions and dismiss the hype if good answers aren't given.

		Interestingly, the Viiv software will also be able to transcode and scale video files on the fly in order to cater to a variety of external devices, many of which require file formats and resolutions that differ from the default specifications used by Viiv.
