The Poles had lost 325 dead, with 1,002 wounded and 114 missing when they were reinforced by the 22nd Armoured Regiment (The Canadian Grenadier Guards) in the early morning of August 21.

Armstrong is not looking to win at this point in the season, but using the early races as preparation for his attempt in July to capture a seventh straight Tour de France title.
Brochard dominated the 124-mile ride from the outskirts of Paris to Vimoutiers, near the cheese-making city of Camembert in Normandy.

Paris--Camembert takes place each Tuesday after Easter as part of the celebration of the Vimoutiers fair.
It suits a rider with his sort of punch, because of the climbs in the last 70km -- Canapville (9% -- climbed three times), Roiville (12% -- climbed twice), and on the 28km finishing circuit around Vimoutiers the cote de Moulin-Neuf (18%) and, 8k from the finish, the mur des Champeaux (17%).

The Chateau at Falaise was the birthplace of William the Conqueror and has exhibitions throughout the year and son et lumiere productions in the summer.
Chateau du Vendeuvre (20mins) has a dolls house museum and a ‘surprise’ water garden (a change of clothes is useful!).There is a man-made sandy beach at Vimoutiers’ leisure park.
Pedallos and electric boats can be hired on the nearby recreational lake which has a miniature harbour.Go-karting, bouncy castles and crazy golf is also available at the lake.Falaise Castle grounds are good for exploring.The closest Ferme Auberge to the house (7 mins) permits walks around the farm to see the animals after lunch.

This tank has the hull number 251 113 (the Tiger at Saumur is number 251 114) This tank belonged, like the Tiger1 at Saumur, to the SS s.Pz Abt 102.

Both tiger were dropped by their "former owners" not far from the place the panzers now stand, luckilly there are people out there who tried to restore them.
The last day i stopped at vimoutiers during the way home, only one Tiger1 survived normandy as a war memorial, the rest was put in the scrapyard.
