Saint Vincent Ferrer, (In Valencian Sant Vicent Ferrer) (23 January 1350 April 5, 1419) was a Valencian Dominican missionary; born in Valencia, Kingdom of Valencia (modern day Land of Valencia, Spain).
Ferrer was professed in the Order of Saint Dominic at the age of 18, and after studying, became Master of Sacred Theology.
Ferrer is also said to be responsible for converting many Jews to Christianity, with one Rabbi becoming Bishop of Cartagena.

St Vincent Ferrer was born at Valentia, in Spain, on the 23rd of January 1357.
Vincent on that occasion made an harangue to the foreign ambassadors and people present, and when he had named Ferdinand king, a prince highly esteemed for his valor, virtue, and moderation, the acclamations of all present testified their approbation; Ferdinand hastened to Saragossa, and was proclaimed on the 3d of September, 1412.
Vincent preached there from the fourth Sunday of Lent till Easter Tuesday, of the year 1417, and foretold the duchess that the child she then bore in her womb would one day be duke of Brittany, which came to pass, for the eldest son then alive died without issue.

VINCENT FERRER, ST (1355-1419), Spanish Dominican preacher, was born of respectable parentage at Valencia on the 23rd of January 1355.
In February 1374 he took the Dominican habit, and after spending some years in teaching, and in completing his theological studies, he was licensed to preach.
In 1412 he was delegated by his native city to take part in the election of a successor to the vacant crown of Aragon; and in 1416 he received a special invitation to attend the council of Constance, where he supported the cause of the Flagellants (q.v.).

He soon made Vincent master of the sacred palace, but while Vincent wanted to heal the wounds the schism caused in the church, Benedict refused to resign as all the candidates for the position had vowed to do.

St. Vincent Ferrer (1350?-1419) was a Dominican priest caught up in the Great Western Schism — a period of almost forty years in which the Church was divided between two popes, both claiming to be the legitimate successor to St. Peter.
Vincent served as Benedict's confessor, and then spent ten years doing intensive mission work in France, Spain, and elsewhere, all the while promoting reconciliation and unity in the Church.
Vincent finally concluded that Benedict wasn't the real pope, and publicly withdrew his support from him; this forced Benedict to flee, eventually ending the Great Schism.
