Vinnytsia, or Vinnytsya (Ukrainian: Вінниця, Polish: Winnica) is a city in central Ukraine, located on the banks of the Pivdennyi Buh River, approximately 270 km west of Ukraine's capital, Kiev.
Administratively, Vinnytsia is the capital of Vinnytsia Oblast, historically a part of the Podillia region.
Vinnytsia was an important trade and political center, of note since as early as the 16th century.
