The Grays are a "vintage base ball" team, the base ball equivalent of Civil War re-enactors.
In this case, we played the first game by 1864 rules, as favored by the Atlantics, and the second game by 1884 rules, which is the year the Providence Grays became the first world champions of base ball.
The Providence Grays won two games in a three team round-robin mini-tournament on a chilly, grey May Saturday, beating the Hartford Dark Blues in an underhand game (1870-ish rules?) and the New York Mutuals in an overhand, 1884 rules game.

Followup:  Ok, I decided to research it a little.  Of the 6 AL players currently with 12 homeruns, Gomes has the least rbis with 24.  Anderson has the most bang for his buck with 68.  The average is 44.
Gomes hit the trifecta Saturday and Tampa Bay even won.  Gomes' homers were all solo shots which might be indicative of his season.  I have researched this but given that he has 12 homers and only 24 rbis, it wouldn't surprise me.
