All in all, this Vintersorg EP is a nice foray into what I call Gray Metal (not fl metal by common definition, but having a lot of elements of the style) and recommended.
Vintersorg, now three albums and an EP deep, has long been the better of his two main projects, Vintersorg and Otyg, the latter of which is simply dreadful.

Hedniskhjärtad is Vintersorgs first release and contains songs from Vintersorgs old band, Vargatron, which back in '94 had the purpose to play fl metal with clean vocals, something that had never been done then but were nothing really new when this album was released.
But Vintersorg is not really fl metal, more like a mix of folk, viking and fl metal, a great mix with guitar leads as riffs and his incredible voice together with rythm changes and acoustic guitars.
Vintersorg is a nice mix of classic sounding metal riffs, folkish elements, clean opera like vocals as well as raspy fl metal like vocals, and some orchestration thrown in to.
