Virgil Hill, the 39-year-old former light heavyweight champion, took on 43-year-old Donny Lalonde, who once owned a share of a light heavyweight title, in a match that might have been interesting about 10 years ago.
Hill outlanded Lalonde 19-3 in the opening round and was credited with a knockdown when a stiff left jab sent Lalonde sprawling into the ropes.
Hill then turned on the gas a little more, producing a 21-9 edge in the sixth, a 27-10 advantage in the seventh (the only round in which Lalonde reached double figures in connects) and a 25-9 margin in the eighth.
