the Gold Virginalis) is a maternal mouth brooder native to Lake Malawi in east Africa.
Copadichromis virginalis is one of those "sleeper cichlids"; the kind no one pays attention to until they see it in person.
I am not a good photographer, but hopefully you will be able to appreciate this fish through the pictures that I have submitted on the fish in my tanks (the best picture is used by permission and was taken by Alan Bliven, an accomplished cichlid breeder and owner of www.cichlidlovers.com).

From Peru and Colombia, Sobralia virginalis prefers intermediate conditions although it will tolerate the high summer temperatures of south Florida.
The short-lived but very showy flowers are borne apically, are large, usually white or pinkish white and have a golden mark in the throat of the lip.
They grow best overpotted in a well-drained, filtered shade and moist media because of their large, fleshy roots.
