Service Dogs of Virginia, Inc. is a Charlottesville, Virginia based non-profit organization dedicated to raising and training service dogs to assist people who have disabilities.
Service Dogs of Virginia is member of Assistance Dogs International, a coalition of not-for-profit organizations that train assistance dogs.
Service dogs are companions that can perform a variety of tasks for their handlers, including retrieving dropped items such as cell phones, pencils, and change; opening and closing doors; and “fetching” a cordless telephone to name a few.

RICHMOND, Virginia - Virginia is set to become the first state with a fully operational datalink system, delivering real-time weather images, including Nexrad radar, to aircraft in its airspace.
The weather data comes to the ARNAV headquarters in Puyallup, Washington, from the National Weather Service, and after it is electronically repackaged for aviation use and "geo tagged" for positioning on the display units, it is shipped over high-speed ISDN lines to towers ARNAV has erected across the United States, where it is broadcast.
Service is currently available in Alaska, Kansas, parts of Pennsylvania and Washington, and along the Gulf Coast area.
